A partnership of states for environmental results
The States ERP Consortium was formed in 2006 as a partnership of state programs dedicated to promoting the Environmental Results Program (ERP). ERP is an integrated approach to advancing compliance that involves assistance, facility self-certification, regulatory inspections, and statistically-based performance assessment.
The primary goals of the States ERP Consortium are to:
- Share information and tools among government programs to help them with ERP implementation;
- Expand support for ERP within state environmental agencies and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA);
- Report and communicate ERP results;
- Identify potential new applications for ERP; and
- Identify strategies to accelerate and achieve economies of scale in automating ERP.
While state and federal agencies have implemented ERP mostly with business sectors that have large numbers of small facilities; it is equally suited as a compliance assurance approach for larger facilities.
